Join us at the Glendenning Fiesta Sale: May 1 & 2, 2026
After 20 years plus in the Texas Longhorn Cattle industry, there are specific cattle we would never buy. There are also things we would never do.
Believe it or not, there are one or two things we haven’t done yet.
In the next few weeks, we will record some of the practices we have consciously avoided over two and a half decades. Before we do that, we would like to share what we are doing for the first time.
There’s a first time for everything….
Last year was our ranch’s most successful year to date. Our loyal cowmoonity has grown beyond our wildest expectations, and we have you to thank. In 2025, we had far more returning-customer sales than in any previous year. We truly love that!! Your loyalty has been an inspiration in so many ways. Nonetheless, this year we are doing things a bit differently. Time catches up with all of us, and it’s now time for us to scale down our herd.
For the first time, we are consigning our foundation genetics to the Glendenning Fiesta Sale.
Why the Glendenning Fiesta Sale?
Rex and Sherese Glendenning are continuing a tradition that Red and Charlene McCombs initiated way back in 1979. In honor of the McCombs’ Legacy, the Glendennings believe that the Fiesta Sale is more than a Texas Longhorn auction. In their words, ” it’s a celebration of the Texas Longhorn community and the rich heritage of the Longhorn.” Their focus on the heritage of the Texas Longhorn Cattle breed is what compelled us to participate in this iconic auction. The Glendennings are excited to promote old-time genetics, and we are overjoyed to share our heritage GVR Longhorn genetics, which have not been promoted in past auction sales.

Paul and I have chosen one Longhorn cow and her heifer as our two consignments. Both Texas Longhorn girls were born on our ranch, as were their mother and their grandmother, respectively.

Lot H39 GVR Fairydust

Fairydust’s unique genetics set her apart in her group. Her sire, RJF Texas Rebel, has a pedigree jam-packed with sought-after, trending genetics, the likes of WS Jamakizm, Jammin Tex, his dam Texana Garland Gal, who sold for $90K, her sire Tejas Star, and his full sister, Texana Van Horne – all legends in their own right. As if that’s not enough, RJF Texas Rebel’s dam is HL Awesome Reb. HL Awesome Reb sold for $140K in 2022. Her half-sister, HR Rosette, sold for a record-breaking $700,000 in the same year.
On the other hand, and perhaps even more impressive, Fairydust’s Dam is a perfect example of what selective “old genetics” can do for overall composition, horn growth, and twist without disrupting the integrity of the breed. These genetics are traced back to YO Ranch and Charlie Schreiner, the founder of the TLBAA.
Lot 35 GVR Dusty

For those in the know, this opportunity is not to be missed. If names like Charlie Schreiner, Owen McGill, El Coyote, and Doug Hunt spark an interest in you, then you will want to study Dusty’s pedigree. Dusty is a culmination of 4 generations of breeding on our ranch, taking advantage of the very best foundation genetics the longhorn industry has to offer.
Dusty is an all-around beautiful longhorn who has produced 5 calves, 4 of which are heifers – exceeding growth in comparison to their peers in our herd and exceeding horn growth of their dam in age comparisons. When you don’t breed solely for TTT, and you still achieve tremendous horn growth, there is a twist. The twist is not only in the beautiful horn structure but also in one’s expectations – they are truly mind-blowing!!
We would love to have your support and your company. Please join us at the Glendening Fiesta Sale in Celina, Texas, on May 1 and 2.
We are also tremendously grateful to Shereese Glendenning for including us and our longhorns in the Glendenning Fiesta Sale Event.
We are looking so forward to seeing you all there.
