Longhorn Calf Number 1
The first Texas Longhorn calf to be born this season is the first longhorn calf to kick of this contest.

This longhorn boy was born on March 1 so as of today, he is all of 6 weeks old. Yet, as young as he is, he seems to really know the ropes, so to speak. He is always watching and learning from the older longhorns. And always in on everything.
From early on, we called him the charmer simply because he gets away with more than his siblings before him have done. His Mama, Dreamcatcher is protective over her calves. Generally, she lets out a warning to her baby longhorns if they get too close to us.

In the past, Dreamcatcher’s young calves obeyed her warnings, at least to begin with. On the contrary, this boy hears his mama’s cautionary moo’s but has yet to listen to her instructions. Actually, he seems to constantly challenge his mother’s requests. It’s not that he is full of mischief, he really isn’t. He does so in the most delightful of ways. All the same, he makes it his business to know what’s going on at all times. He is truly inquisitive and quite serious about it.
In addition, on our Calf For Sale page, we write that he was born with a bounce in his step. He does love to see us and he does like to run.
Interestingly, we have commented that this year, our babies are the happiest group of longhorn calves we have ever had, and that would be going back 20 years. This boy may well be the reason for our happy group of calves. Every body wants to be where he is. As a result he has become an ‘influencer’ in the herd.
It’s kind of like this, where he goes, everyone goes.
Longhorn Steer Calf Number one – our charmer and influencer, what is his name?
Longhorn Calf Number 2
Texas Longhorn Calf Number 2 belongs to our Texas Longhorn cow, Beauty.

Beauty joined our herd a few years ago. Beautiful in name and appearance, Beauty has only had heifer calves and this year is no exception. Her little heifer calf is not only perfectly structured, like her mother, she is full of personality. This little girl is spunky, to say the least! Like her mother, she will be tricolored. She is colorful in looks and in nature. A quick look the photos should give you an idea of her spirited personality.

Longhorn Heifer Calf Number 2 – our spunky leader is smart and a little mischievous, what is her name?
