TLBAA longorn magazine — COVER GIRLS!! **Our Texas Longhorn Salebarn is the subject of this post.** Nonetheless, we would be remiss not extending our thanks to the TLBAA for showcasing our Longhorn girls once again on the **Texas Longhorn Trails magazine cover – July 2025 issue.**

GVRlonghorns sells a set number of Texas Longhorn cattle every year. A fare share of those sales are longhorn calves and every season we update our website and offer Texas Longhorn calves for sale in our Longhorn Salebarn. In addition, we offer a limited number of ‘breeding age‘ Longhorn heifers and Texas Longhorn cows. This year is no different. We continue to sell our Texas longhorns by private treaty sales and we can do so because of your support. Our Longhorn Cowmoonity has grown beyond our expectations, and in particular, our return customer base has ‘blOOOmed’ considerably. We thank each one of you for making it easy for us.

2. Pending Sales update – 2025

GVR Ciao Bella will be leaving us together with her mama Shonuff’s Beauty after she is vaccinated and branded in a few months.

Above: It will be difficult to find anybody who disagrees that GVR Cactus Star is a stunning longhorn heifer! Born on 3/1/25, this photo was taken on the 5/25/25. Her color gets more pronounced every day as does her composition. Cactus Star will leave us when she is weaned together with GVR Beauty’s Belle. DOB 4/18/24, pictured below.

Prince Charming and Bud Wiser are two steers that will be leaving GVRlonghorns together after they are weaned. They are friends which makes this that much more special. A close-up of Bud Wiser is down below. These two boys still need to be castrated, vaccinated, branded, and weaned. We Thank you Rudy U.

GVR Summer Star, the only feature the above photo does not show distinctly, is Summer Star’s beautifully brindled coat. As Texas Longhorns go, she is the whole package!

GVR Aurora Bovinealis (above) was much lighter when she was born and has darkened like her mother Sniper’s Star. GVR Lady Luck (below) belongs to one of our Foundation Cows, Lady Godiva. The first photo is Lady Luck having a bath after a belly full of dinner. The second photo is a close-up showing her tricolors more distinctly, and those impressive horn nubs at 7 weeks of age.

3. Current Longhorns for Sale at GVRlonghorns

At the end of every calving season, we assess our Texas Longhorn herd to keep it manageable. This year is no different. It’s always a difficult task as we would like to keep everybody. Ideally, we don’t increase our herd from one year to the next. At the most, we will retain two or three heifers. As a result, our Texas Longhorn SALEBARN is up to date, and bursting with beautiful options. All have the finest genetics the Longhorn industry has to offer, all within fair price ranges.
